Improvement Plans & Recommendations
Trigon provided professional services, as a subcontractor, to Tulane University for immediate post-disaster Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) inspections and related services for its three (3) primary campus locations and other leased and owned properties that support the academic, research and administrative operations of the University. Services include conducting visual structural and engineering inspections and damage assessments of buildings, facilities, infrastructure, equipment and associated contents in the immediate post-disaster environment. Inspections include external and internal inspections along with complete documentation support for inspection activities.
Examples of buildings and facilities included under this project included:
Non-structural components
Building infrastructure and utilities
Structural elements such as roofs, foundations, frame, walls and other elements
Grounds and facilities such as walkways, roads, free standing walls, etc.
Major utilities such as power plants, waste water and sewage collection and pipelines, communications equipment, etc.
Trigon provided inspectors and Damage Assessment Coordinators (DAC) to the Tulane University Assessment and Recovery Team (DART) for this project. Additionally, Trigon actively participated in the annual preparedness and training activities required under this project, including pre-storm visits and DART training activities including Table Top Exercises with all University Academic, Operational, and Maintaining Departments.
