CAD/GRAPHICS/GIS DRAFTSPERSON – Vietnam
Provides technical and analytical information management solutions through the use of software and databases for dioxin remediation project. Extensive use of AutoCAD and/or Microstation, drafting systems, GIS systems and client standards to prepare drawings and revise/update existing drawings. Drawings include maps, construction documents, figures and other graphics used in a variety of products, including construction documents and reports. Functions in a capacity under general supervision, performs routine aspects of data administration, creation, analysis, reporting, mapping and/or application development. Applies knowledge of GIS and information management principles to prescribed techniques and procedures to complete project assignments.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparing detail and/or general arrangement drawings and sketches of unusual, complex, or original designs requiring the application of pre-dominantly practical engineering knowledge.
Performing necessary calculations using accepted formulas and references per project standards.
Preparing complete sets of 2D construction drawings which will include multiple views (sections and plans, etc.), detail drawings, and assembly drawings of equipment, facilities, or systems where minimal information is provided by rough sketches and/or verbal outlines of requirements.
Perform basic GIS data development activities, including developing and updating GIS databases from hard copy maps, site plans, existing electronic data sets, and GPS (Global Positioning System) and field survey data.
Perform on-site reviews, as necessary, to gather project information to ensure accuracy of plans and measurements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent plus specialized training equal to two-year college or equivalent experience.
Minimum of ten (10) years of related work experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
Demonstrated ability to learn new software, standards, and work processes quickly.
PREFERRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with remediation projects.
Experience with USAID-funded projects.
