Community Outreach Specialist – Vietnam
Provide public information, community outreach and event coordination support in relation to a dioxin remediation project. Responsible to plan, implement and monitor project outreach efforts.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and implement an outreach plan to inform local community members and other stakeholders of project-related information.
Community outreach and coordination, especially for remedial actions conducted in civilian areas.
Identify media pitches and develop necessary materials, including but not limited to press releases, talking points, fact sheets, backgrounders on the project.
Develops and regularly updates communication materials such as fact sheets, activity briefers, project summaries, brochures, handouts, presentations and other documents deemed important to conveying project-related information.
Assist with translating briefing materials into Vietnamese, edits other Vietnamese documents for public distribution and creates materials in Vietnamese for the public.
Organize and participate at community outreach activities to educate the broader community about the project activities.
Ensure that brand identity, messaging and marketing and communications strategy are in accordance with established guidelines.
Coordinates the design, printing and distribution of materials, ensuring standards for timeliness, quality, consistency of brand standards and cost-effectiveness are met.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor’s degree in business, communications or related field required.
A minimum of twenty (20) years of continuous experience in related field.
Familiarity with the local cultural community.
Experience with graphic software in designing collateral materials.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong communication skills in both English and Vietnamese (oral and written).
Excellent organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and meet deadlines.
PREFERRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with remediation projects.
Experience with USAID-funded projects.

In order to integrate the foreign assistance effort into the community, enhance the skills of the cooperating country’s population, and contribute to the local economy, this position is designated for a Cooperating Country National (CCN), meaning an individual who is a cooperating country citizen, or a non-cooperating country citizen lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the cooperating country.
