Trigon is a subcontractor on the LSU Health Care Services (HCSD) Division Stafford Act Programs Closeout Assistance project, supporting close out procedures for all Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) programs under the Stafford Act. Trigon is providing technical assistance to assist LSU HCSD in expediting closeout procedures for all state medical and hospital locations affected by Hurricanes Katrina, Gustav, Ike and Isaac in accordance with the closeout procedures developed by GOHSEP and FEMA. LSU HCSD suffered extensive damage from Hurricane Katrina as well as subsequent hurricanes Gustav, Ike and Isaac. The recovery effort resulting from these hurricanes yielded over 500 Project Worksheets (PWs). LSU HCSD has the legal obligation to complete reviews on all projects and submit an accounting of eligible costs (closeout) as soon as practical. As part of the Closeout Assistance team, Trigon is supporting the work plan for all closeout tasks, including the timeline for tasks and deliverables. Support includes knowledge and familiarity with the review process for grants and for ensuring compliance with federal law, regulations and policies, etc., as related to the closeout work. As part of this effort, all federal funds must be accounted for in each of the LSU projects, providing the appropriate and necessary auditing and accounting tasks are completed in a thorough and timely manner. This effort involves daily interface with LSU HCSD and various contacts at each of the LSU facilities for which closeout efforts are conducted, close work with GOHSEP and FEMA, conducting site visits as needed for thorough completion of tasks, initiation of corrective action within the identified timeline upon discovering deficiencies with a project, and contribution to daily, monthly and quarterly reports summarizing activities.
